Some of the extra historical characters provided:

Historical note:
Developed by the Humanists
in the Renaissance as a return to the older Carolingian hands, this italic
hand is an inclined, cursive form of the littera antiqua (the basis
of modern Roman typefaces today), first used formally in the 1450s in
the Papal Chancery. It was first used in England from around 1550, and
gradually replaced the Secretary hand as the preferred
choice for all purposes.
